Update On Future Plans:
Keeping Show In Charleston For 2018
Since the last show newsletter in March, I made two trips to Norfolk, VA, with the goal of confirming that the brand-new Hilton hotel there would be the right fit to accommodate this event in September of 2018. The bottom line is it became very clear that Norfolk is not the correct business move for our trade show.
When I explained this development to our current hosts at the Belmond Charleston Place hotel, they made their own business decision to allow our group to setup our event registration in the hotel’s main first-floor lobby space – which in turn enables us to expand the exhibit floor plan to fit 30 more spaces in the second-floor lobby space. The result is we have been able to cut our exhibit waiting list in half for this September’s show, and create a more sustainable inventory of spaces going forward for 2018 and possibly beyond.
The Charleston Place does not allow any other group to use their main lobby – but they really enjoy hosting our group (i.e., you-all!) and want to work with us to keep the show at their hotel for as long as possible. I believe this is good news for everyone – as having access to such a high-quality, luxury hotel at “reasonable” prices, on top of the high levels of customer service, translates into an excellent business value for all event attendees.
Expanded Exhibit Floor Plan Full
The 30 new “Lobby Tabletop” exhibit spaces have now been filled from the exhibitor waiting list. A map of the expanded floor plan can be seen at the below link. For those companies still on the wait list, we do have “Meeting Room Tables” available in separate rooms that companies can use for exhibit displays and a base of operations at the show. See the “Rates” link below for more details.
Early Registration Rate Through June 30
Exhibitor staff and attendees all pay the same flat badge rate ($375 thru June 30; $420 after), and this registration fee is reinvested into multiple catering and networking functions over the course of the show. So, aside from the business value, we're feeding everyone breakfast, lunch, and 2 evening open bar/hors d'oeuvres receptions, as well as typical access to the conference program and exhibits (attendees are on their own for individual dinners).
Online Networking Portal Opening Soon
We will have a new networking portal available to help attendees connect before and after this September’s show. You can view the portal now at the below link. An email with more specific login instructions will be sent separately to each current registrant within the next two weeks. Once logged in, you will be able to update your personal profile and start connecting with other attendees.
Hotels + Earlier Opening For Exhibits
The Belmond Charleston Place and Marriott Renaissance room blocks are sold-out. There are still rooms available at the Marriott Courtyard – as well as many nearby hotels that are reasonably priced and easy walking distance (Double Tree Hilton, Mills House Wyndham).
Note that the exhibition floor will open earlier in 2017 at 1:00 PM on Wednesday, September 6th, along with the exhibitor showcase presentation program. Full schedule details are available at the below “Agenda” link.
Thanks and best regards,
